Hill Dickinson Seminar: Defending surveyors in RICS disciplinary investigations and prosecutions – it can happen to you!
Date: 24 November 2016 - 24 November 2016, 8:30 - 10:30
Location: Hill Dickinson, 50 Fountain Street, Manchester, M2 2AS
Join Hill Dickinson at this seminar designed to demystify the process of dealing with an RICS disciplinary investigation and prosecution.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors routinely prosecutes surveyors for a variety of alleged breaches of its professional rules. The process can be frightening and disconcerting. Surveyors often do not know what is happening or, if they believe the prosecution is unjust, where to turn. This seminar is designed to demystify the process and explain the whys and wherefores of dealing with the RICS as prosecutor and explain aspects of a successful defence.
The speakers are:
- Paul Housego, Independent Chair of Conduct and Appeals at RICS 2013-2016
- Marc Beaumont of Windsor Chambers who has successfully defended many defendants before the RICS (as well as other) disciplinary panels
- Mark Weston, partner at Hill Dickinson who has successfully defended (and supported) clients who have found themselves on the sharp end of a RICS prosecution
