The Localism Bill became an Act in November 2011. In March 2012 the National Planning Policy Framework was approved with immediate effect. Neighbourhood planning is moving forward and the Community Infrastructure Levy, with us since 2010, is finally gathering pace whilst across the border in Wales the First Minister has announced that the Welsh Government is to bring forward, amongst other things, its own planning bill, heritage bill and a sustainable development bill. This seminar will look at some of the key changes that practitioners will have to focus on as well as potential problems which may arise.
