Back in the public conscience courtesy of Sir David Attenborough, Greta Thunberg and Extinction Rebellion, the importance of sustainable development as part of a holistic response to climate change is finding a new gear. But it has to – the clock is ticking! Manchester is developing an action plan as part of a Zero Carbon commitment by 2038 – is this soon enough? As the built environment sector, what can and should we be doing to effect change? What can we learn from others and how can we create the commercial value that will really shift the take-up of smart, energy efficient, and sustainable practices?

Join us for a session that tries to demystify the jargon and focuses on the facts and practical measures that can make a difference.

Our panel includes:

•    Richard Smith – Sustainability Manager of the BBC
•    Joanne Holden – Sustainability Manager of Peel Land & Property
•    Dilon Hilton – Director of Building Performance Engineering at Hydrock
•    Haniyeh Mohammedpourkarbasi – Lecturer in Low Carbon Architecture at University of Liverpool
