As the annual curtain raiser event of the new year, FBE Manchester is delighted to be joined by Louise Wyman, strategic director of growth and development at Manchester City Council.

Our ‘In Conversation’ events are a highlight of the FBE Manchester calendar and provide a unique opportunity to spend time with a key built environment influencer, discovering more about what motivates them and the challenges and opportunities they face in their respective roles. Previous ‘In Conversation’ guests include Joanne Roney OBE and Sir Howard Bernstein.

Appointed in June 2020, Louise oversees investment and development across Manchester and has responsibility for planning, housing strategy, work & skills, and inclusive growth.

Previously, Louise led the Design & Inclusive Growth Agenda at West Midlands Combined Authority and, as Director of Strategy & Engagement at Homes England, helped to establish the Government’s housing agency.

She has led urban renewal projects in the USA and Central Europe and was a member of the Planning Committee for the London Legacy Development Corporation with responsibility for developing London’s 2012 Olympic Park.

Louise is a member of the National Infrastructure Commission Design Group and is an Ambassador for Harvard University where she undertook her graduate studies.

Due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions 2021’s event will be hosted online, however there will still be opportunities for you to put your questions to Louise as part of our interactive audience Q&A.
