Join us as Liverpool born and bred Mike Moran MBE, CEO of Proton Partners International, talks about his ambitious plans to create a strategic shift in the delivery of healthcare across the country. Mike is the man who delivered the UK’s first High Energy Proton Beam Therapy service through PPI’s subsidiary company Rutherford Cancer Centres. Mike will describe how Liverpool will benefit from the creation of the brand new £40m Rutherford Cancer Centre which will deliver Proton Beam Therapy and form a key component in the city’s transition to a world class centre of excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of Cancer. Mike will tell how, in just three years, his company has transformed from a new entrant to the market to global prominence providing the world’s largest network of Proton Beam Centres, how his companies embrace the latest technology, drive research and innovation, and seek to provide a service that is accessible to all as well as his ambitious plans for the future and the positive and significant impact this will make to the regional economy.
Phil Shaw, Interserve construction’s divisional director, will also talk about the challenges in delivering such a complex, state-of-the-art healthcare facility. Finally, there will be an opportunity to visit the site of the brand-new Rutherford Cancer Centre and see first-hand how work is progressing in delivering this strategically important world class centre in the heart of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter.
