Constructing Social Media
Manchester Construction Best Practice Club Event
Tuesday 6th December 2011
4:00pm for 4:30pm until 6.00pm
Poor or lack of communication is often at the root of many construction problems, failures and misunderstandings. And yet never before have we had such easy, ubiquitous and even free access to a range of options for communicating, sharing, learning and collaborative working. Collectively known as Social Media these options allow people to converse with each other, exchange and share 'stuff'. This is a very different world from the one way media of websites, newsletters, even emails, and changes the way we interact, at personal, organisational and inter-organisational levels.
Martin Brown, improvement and social media advocate, will illustrate how social media can be and is being used by our industry, and will cover
- What is Social Media?
- Overview and update on the world of social media
- Developing a social media strategy
- Social Media in boardrooms and on sites
- Winning work with social media
- Promoting your organisation – Fun with QR codes
- Social Media staff policy
- Where and how to start?
