Location: HOME, 2 Tony Wilson Place, Manchester, M15 4FN

Join us for our first Digital Showcase, in association with Tech North, where we will showcase the hottest start-ups, SMEs and fledgling tech businesses. Be inspired as we explore the successes and pitfalls of these young companies and discover the newest technology set to impact the city. We ask the question: could the North be home to the next big thing in Tech?

Putting northern tech on the map

There’s a thriving digital tech scene in the North of England and Tech North aim to shine a light on it, support the ecosystem, and accelerate the froth of this exciting sector. Their mission is to make sure Northern tech communities have the information, networks and inspiration they need to further the growth and success seen in recent years.

ProxiSmart

ProxiSmart is an award-winning specialist in smart beacon solutions – an early stage SME that is developing two flagship solutions that sit within the ‘smart cities’ agenda. ParkingPerx removes the barriers to trade associated with car parking for ‘bricks and mortar’ businesses. It rewards consumer spending with free parking and disrupts the car parking industry by changing how car parking fees are collected. Aimed at locations that are looking to invigorate the ‘high street’, it drives footfall, spending and location loyalty whilst collecting very powerful data that can be used to help formulate policy on travel, parking and business development. TravelPerx generates a boost to the city centre economy whilst incentivising greener travel choices. ProxiSmart will be represented by founder, Chris Reed.

Flow XO

Flow XO is the bot platform for business. It’s the only bot platform with over 100 service integrations to popular apps like Mailchimp, Capsule CRM and Eventbrite provided through an easy to use, no-code visual editor. Build a bot once, and it’s present everywhere – Messenger, Slack, Telegram, SMS and as an embeddable web messenger – all wrapped up with first class support from the experts at Flow XO. There’s no easier way to build and maintain your business-ready bot. Flow XO will be represented by expert Steven Booth.

The event will be chaired by Martin Bryant

Martin is community editor at Tech North, where he tells the story of technology in the North of England. He uncovers world-class companies, people and initiatives that often fly under the radar of major tech publications. Tech North, part of Tech City UK, is charged promoting, supporting and accelerating the technology sector in the North of England.
