Business Waste Resource Workshop

Date: 25 May 2010, 8:30 - 12:00

Location: Park Hall Hotel, Charnock Richard, Chorley, PR7 5LP

All businesses have an impact on the environment, including the production of waste. As part of business operations, you should try and reduce waste as much as possible. Where you cannot avoid creating waste, you need to make sure it's managed well. By implementing appropriate waste management systems, business' can achieve significant benefits and such as saving money, improving competitiveness and your business image, increasing your chances of attracting investment.

In 2009, small to medium sized businesses in Lancashire were responsible for producing over £1m tonnes of waste. As landfill tax continues to rise, businesses need to start thinking about increasing their recycling rates and diverting more waste away from landfill.

This event, hosted by Envirolink Northwest in partnership with Lancashire County Council and Global Renewables Lancashire Operations Ltd aims to give Lancashire based businesses practical advice on managing waste, increasing recycling rates, identifying service providers as well as providing information on local business support organisations.
