EP and Warrington agree record deal at New Town House

English Partnerships has sold its 68,000 sq ft leasehold in New Town House to Warrington Borough Council for an undisclosed sum in the town's biggest office deal of the year.

Warrington council will consolidate separate departments from in and around the town into the building, which is the former headquarters of the now-defunct Commission for New Towns. EP has additional large offices at Birchwood in Warrington.

The New Town House lease expires in June 2018 and covers five floors with 49 car spaces at an annual rent of £587,934, which is due for review in June 2011. New Town House is owned by Topland Group.

John Lea, director of CBRE asset management, which advised EP, commented on the importance of the major transaction for the town's commercial activity: "The New Town House is a significant flagship building in Warrington and it is encouraging to see an appetite for taking the leasehold on and to the completion of this record letting for the town."
