Encon adds to Chorley’s industrial boom
A joint venture between HelioSlough and CBRE investors has let more than 100,000 sq ft to Encon at its Revolution Park industrial scheme in Chorley, Lancashire.
Building materials supplier Encon, part of the Wolseley group of companies, which already occupies a site at the park, has taken 106,187 sq ft at more than £5/sq ft for 15 years, with no break.
The deal sees the first of three speculative buildings disposed of, leaving a unit of 232,000 sq ft and another of 198,000 sq ft. All three completed before Christmas ready for occupation.
Dean Young, director of Bailey Deakin & Hamiltons, joint letting agents on Revolution, said: "It's a great deal and Encon were very committed to the site from the start having seen how much Wolseley benefited from their base here.
"We had four companies looking at the unit and expect keen interest in the other two."
GVA Grimley advised Encon. King Sturge, M3 and Bailey Deakin & Hamiltons advised HelioSlough and CBRE investors.
