EADS takes Moneysupermarket office

Moneysupermarket.com has sub-let its former call centre on Manor Lane within Hawarden Industrial Estate to global aircraft firm EADS.

The 9,000 sq ft property was known as Moneysupermarket Manor, previously Francis Smith House, after Simon Nixon's online price comparison business bought the building from the Poole Estates Group for an undisclosed sum.

Tom Creer, associate director of Beresford Adams Commercial, who acted for the landlord, said: "Securing EADS, one of the world's largest aerospace engineering companies not only secures the long term future of the building for our clients, but also represents one of the largest office lettings in North Wales since the economic downturn."

Creer added that Moneysupermarket.com found the Manor Lane site surplus to its current requirements after consolidating its money team together at its head office on St Davids Park in Ewloe.

EADS, parent company of aircraft manufacturing business Airbus, is relocating staff working in its human resource and payroll departments from its shared service centre in Broughton to the Manor Lane site, which still needs to be fitted out.

Steven Wade, director of Legat Owen, who acted for EADS, said: "Relocating the Broughton HR team from their current location is a significant piece of their change management jigsaw that both we and the client are extremely happy to have been able to achieve."

Details of the rental agreement were not disclosed.
