E-bike track gears up to host 94 Halton homes
E-Scape gave up on its electric motocross venture after repeated robberies lost the company £130,000 and left it without insurance, now the business is seeking consent for a residential development on the now unused eight-acre site.
Of the 94 proposed homes, 25% would be affordable with social housing offered in the form of 15 single-bed apartments in a block at the site’s northern edge, in addition to eight two-bed semi-detached houses.
The remaining units would be 89 three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes.
Halton Council has allocated the land at Hilltop Farm for residential development in its local plan.
According to planning documents, the E-Scape riding facility was impacted by the COVID-19 lockdown, leading to extended periods of closure.
Subsequent break-ins took their toll on the business which lost £130,000 worth of electric motorcycles and can no longer obtain the required insurance.
The site would be accessed off Hill Top Road to its south and from Windmill Lane along the site’s eastern boundary.
Emery Planning, SCP, Betts Hydro, E3P, and Andy Harmer Ecology Services are consultants on the scheme.
Plans also indicate the future conversion of the existing E-Scape building, although the application, still in its outline stage, doesn’t specify its proposed use.

Sounds like a friendly local community to house your family.
