Domis reports 56% turnover increase

With a £496m project pipeline, the Wigan-based contractor was optimistic about the future in its annual report for the year ending 30 April 2025.

A sizeable increase in turnover also bolstered Domis Construction’s report, with the company going from £162.6m turnover in 2024 to £253.4m in 2025.

However, while turnover soared, gross profit margins tightened, decreasing from 7.5% to 5.7%.

This led to a post-tax profit of £7.2m for the financial year – up £1.6m from the year before, according to the annual report, which was published last week on Companies House.

Domis specialises in commercial and residential builds. The company completed five projects during the 2024/2025 financial year, including the first two 14-storey blocks of Salboy’s £195m Waterhouse Gardens in Manchester, the final phase of Salboy’s £110m Castle Irwell, and the Salford Youth Zone.

The contractor was live on 10 sites, including four that commenced in the fiscal year. These four were Salboy’s 26-storey Obsidian in Salford, AM ALPHA’s redevelopment of Rylands in Manchester, Salboy’s 76-storey Viadux Phase Two, and the 86-home second and third phases of Abbey Woods.

Domis was chosen that same year as the preferred contractor on another seven projects, including two with new clients Property Alliance Group and Muse.

The company said that it employed 191 people for the financial year ending April 2025, up from 164 the previous fiscal year. The additional 27 jobs were in management and administration roles.

With more work during the fiscal year came more injuries, with 50 reports of injuries, diseases, and dangerous occurrences compared to 35 the year before. Domis continued to have zero construction waste sent to landfill.

In terms of continued growth, the contractor is extending its distribution centre in Wigan, having acquired land from National Grid.
