Deal takes Chancery Place to 70% let
Serviced office provider i2 Office has signed a lease for the 15,500 sq ft on the fifth and sixth floors of the building on Brown Street in Manchester's traditional business district.
Chancery Place is i2 Office's first business centre in Manchester; it has existing offices in Leeds, Glasgow, Milton Keynes, Watford, Greenwich as well as four centres in central London.
Philip Grace, chief executive of i2 Office, said: "Manchester was identified as an important target for us to establish an office sometime ago. Given our business, the quality of the building was of paramount importance and Chancery Place quickly became our focus to provide our first Manchester city centre offering. It will be open for business and new clients this month and we are confident this centre will perform well."
i2 Office's first Manchester centre opens today. The company agreed a 15-year lease with a 10-year break option at the 102,000 sq ft building.
Chris Mulcahy, director of Jones Lang LaSalle's national office agency team, who acted jointly with Savills on behalf of the private Irish landlord, added: "Occupancy in the building has now reached almost 70%, which underlines the high quality space offered, and with other strong interest in an additional two floors and we expect further lettings will soon follow."
