David Wilson presses on in Preston

The housebuilder has lodged plans to deliver the 210-home fifth phase of Homes England’s masterplan for up to 1,100 homes in Cottam.

Architect and masterplanner IDP and planner Savills are working with David Wilson on the project, which covers the Hoyles Farm area, taking in the sub-areas North Gardens and Waterside.

The land lies off Cottmn Way, south-west of Cottam itself and north-west of Preston city centre.

Rowland Homes, which aquired 13 acres in May from Homes England, is responsible for phase four, to the west. Story Homes’ phase two is located to the south across Cottam Way, and Morris Home’s phase three is immediately east of David Wilson’s plot.

Sister company Barratt delivered the initial phase of 101 homes, while Countryside has consent for a 68-home sixth phase.

Most of the development is two-storey housing. Sixty three affordable homes are included.

The over-arching Cottam Hall masterplan consent dates from 2013 originally, and covers up to 1,100 homes and associated community facilities across a 130-acre site.

The professional team also includes Tetra Tech, Aecom and The Environment Partnership.
