Crossfield Living to build £4.5m Railway Arches

The Liverpool-based developer and construction firm has been selected by Wigan Council to deliver the 40-apartment scheme off Queen Street in Leigh town centre.

Planning approval for the project, designed by AFL Architects, was granted last September and the scheme is scheduled to complete in summer 2022, according to Crossfield Living.

The majority of the flats will have one bedroom, while four will have two. The £4.5m project also features a 33-space car park.

Located close to the Spinning Gate Shopping Centre, the Railway Arches scheme will comprise 100% affordable homes, to be managed by Wigan Council.

David Dobson, director of Crossfield Living, said: “Investment in public sector development is first and foremost about value for money and this has never been more necessary.

“We believe in building better lives by building better environments and as a construction partner we place as much emphasis on investing in the local community as we do on our buildings.”

Crossfield Living is delivering a number of housing developments across the North West, including schemes in Liverpool, Widnes, Cheshire and the Wirral on behalf of Onward Homes.
