Jeremy Totton has joined from Cheshire-based Taylor Young Handforth architects, who brings with him experience in master-planning large residential areas for urban renewal across the UK, including the North West and London.

Mike Stewart has joined from TADW Architects in Stockport and brings experience in social housing and healthcare, including work at hospitals such as Christies and Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester, and Royal Preston Hospital.

Mick Goode, director of Croft Goode Architects, said: "It's a real coup for us to be able to appoint two architects with such calibre and experience within their specialist sectors.

"It's still a tough environment out there and this places even more emphasis on quality and skill. Mike and Jeremy's expertise is a great addition to the collective strength of our team, which will be integral to securing further work as we enter another crucial stage in the economic recovery."
