CPW agrees Place North partnership

The international mechanical and electrical engineer has started an annual campaign of marketing and business development with Place North.

Features of CPW’s agreement include a premium table at Place Party, which will be held at the AO Arena on 1 October, and sponsorship of the Greater Manchester Development Update in September. CPW and Place will also collaborate on the media company’s UKREiiF programme, with further details to be announced in due course.

CPW’s campaign will build upon a series of high-profile project wins for the firm, including work at Mix Manchester and the largest Premier Inn Hotel in Manchester at Manchester Airport.

“Whilst we have had a Manchester office for over ten years, we now feel that it is the right time to further invest in the North of the UK,” said director Carl Humpage.

“With the success of recently secured projects and also a healthy pipeline in this region, now is the right time to further invest in our Manchester office, strengthening our ability to deliver in the North of England,” he continued.

“The key to our success is the people we work with and our ability to deliver technically, which we hope to demonstrate in the North West over the next period.”

Humpage also spoke more about why CPW had chosen to work with Place in particular, having met the media company’s managing partner Dino Moutsopoulos at MIPIM last year.

“It was clear from the outset that Place is a business that aligns with our values and can help support our growth ambitions within the region and beyond,” Humpage said.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Place during 2026 for both MIPIM and regional support and are excited about a successful 2026 for this region.”

Humpage concluded: “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.”

Moutsopoulos shared Humpage’s sentiment. “Having originally met CPW at MIPIM a couple of years ago, it’s excellent to see them arrive in Manchester and to see how quickly they are growing,” he said.

“I and the team look forward to assisting CPW with their expansion and growth plans for 2026 across the North.”

CPW has more than a dozen offices and is headquartered in Solihull. As well as UK offices there are bases in India and Poland. The firm’s UK clients and partners include University of Bradford, Clatterbridge Cancer Care Trust, Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, Twycross Zoo, Willmott Dixon, and the University of Oxford.

Place has a prestigious list of partners lined up for 2026. As well as CPW, we will be working closely with Morgan Sindall Construction, A & B Engineering, Onward Homes, Muse, Curtins, Harworth, WSP, and Robertson Group. Learn more about the benefits of becoming a Place partner.
