Council invites expressions of interest for Woodsend Circle

Trafford Council is has published a development brief for a 2.46 acre residential and retail site to revamp Woodsend Circle.

Following a Special Neighbourhood Forum last year where residents were given the opportunity to outline their priorities for the area, the council is inviting developers to put forward plans for the area.

The council said the "initial exercise will establish whether there is any interest in refurbishing the existing shops and maisonettes on the site" and the council is instructing interested developers not to contact current occupiers.

No formal plans will be submitted until the end of the year and will then form part of a consultation exercise with residents and current occupiers early next year.

Cllr Mike Cornes said: "This is the first stage of the regeneration of Woodsend Circle and will help give us an idea of the type and level of interest in this area. We are in contact with those people currently in units so they are fully aware of the process and the proposed timetable."

  • A copy of the brochure being sent to interested parties during the marketing exercise is available from the Land and Property Sales section of the Council website www.trafford.gov.uk
