Contractors win university framework places

The University of Manchester has appointed companies to construction works frameworks for jobs up to £10m.

The total value of the frameworks awarded is estimated at £175m over the course of the programme. The works called off in individual contracts will cover new build, demolition and refurbishment projects.

Companies selected for the smallest works up to £200,000 were:

  • Helena Partnerships
  • J Greenwood Builders
  • MBC Building Contractor NW
  • SPE Contracts
  • SPIE

For contracts from £200,000 to £1m

  • City Build
  • F Parkinson
  • Kaberry Construction
  • Manchester & Cheshire Construction
  • Warden Construction

Work from £1m to £4m:

  • Forrest
  • John Turner Construction Group
  • Keepmoat Regeneration
  • Seddon Construction

From £4m to £10m:

  • John Graham Construction
  • Kier Construction
  • Willmott Dixon Construction

In June 2015, three contractors – Balfour Beatty, Laing O’Rourke and Sir Robert McAlpine – were appointed to the over-£10m framework, which makes up the majority of the university’s £1bn estates renewal plan.
