Contractor picked for Sale care home
Huddersfield-based contractor Termrim has been chosen to build a 60-bed care home on a prominent site on Washway Road, Sale.
The scheme, designed by KWL Architects, will include 60 en-suite rooms, a cinema, café, and hair salon, all set over three storeys.
Client Care UK is aiming to start the project in the coming months, and Termrim is due to hand over the scheme in summer 2019.
The corner site, bordering Washway Road and Oakfield, is home to three linked buildings and a detached house, which have been used as offices since the 1990s. These will all be demolished to make way for the 33,000 sq ft scheme, which was given planning approval in June last year.
Vehicular access to the site, including 22 parking spaces and an ambulance bay, will be via Oakfield rather than Washway Road.
Alongside KWL and Termrim, the professional team also includes Strutt & Parker as planner and SLR Consulting as environment, landscape, and travel consultant.
Where does 22 car park spaces come from…..?
It is used for all these care homes and seems historic and arbitrary.
It will use closer to 40.
Local residents prepare for trouble….. once the construction traffic/mess has gone in 2 years!

Will the cinema be for residents only or for the general public?
Is it an older persons care home?
