Contractor appointed on Liverpool’s Innovo House

After securing backing from a Singaporean investor earlier this year, Mount Property Group has appointed Barton Group Services to build the 124-apartment block on Devon Street.

Designed by Falconer Chester Hall, the scheme includes 44 studio apartments and eight en-suite clusters of 10 beds each over seven floors.

Barton is set to start ground works next month and will hand over the project in September 2020 ahead of the 2020/21 academic year.

Singaporean institutional investor Soilbuild provided an undisclosed sum towards the project earlier this year in its first investment in the UK.

The site is currently used as a car park; the area has seen a series of student schemes come forward, including YPG’s proposals for nearly 600 student flats at Gildart Street, approved by Liverpool City Council in late 2017.

Mount and Barton are also working together to deliver Natex, a £45m student scheme on the former National Express bus station on Norton Street. Mount bought the site in June last year from Anwyl, in a deal originally tipped by Place North West.
