Sir Tom Finney Way
Preston City Council is expected to grant permission for an outline application for two apartment blocks with a total of 85 flats off Sir Tom Finney Way. The site previously accommodated the now demolished The Sumners pub and beer garden.
Both blocks will be aesthetically similar, block one would be four storeys and contain 34 apartments, while block two would be four to five storeys, with 51 apartments.
The scheme will provide 54 single-bed units and 31 two-bed flats of which 30% will be affordable.
Plans for the 2.5-acre site were compiled by EMC Architects. PWA Planning is listed as both the applicant and planning agent for the scheme.
Block Two will prioritise elderly living and will meet the suitable accessibility requirements. Residents will also have access to a large communal space by the entrance
Norr Consultants, TEL Landscape, Godwins Tree Surveys, and Batworker Ecological Consultancy all contributed expertise to the project.
