Consent granted for 69 Rochdale homes
Rochdale Council has approved the construction of 69 homes on the former Coral Mill site in Newhey by Countryside Properties.
Advised by Nexus Planning, Countryside’s development will consist of a mix of family housing and apartments for the private rented sector.
The site on Shaw Road has been vacant for a number of years after the former mill buildings were demolished. Redrow previously had planning permission to build 39 houses and 48 apartments on the plot but the scheme was never progressed.
Rochdale’s Pennines township planning committee unanimously granted permission for the homes at its meeting on 14 April.
Justin Cove, associate director at Nexus Planning, said: “We are pleased that officers and committee members at Rochdale Council recognised the positive benefits that the site will deliver. The outcome is just reward for the significant level of work and attention to detail that has been put in to the proposals by Countryside Properties and the Nexus project team.”
