Conlon appointed on council care centre

Conlon Construction has won a £2m contract with Lancashire County Council to carry out a major refurbishment of a day centre for people with disabilities in Burnley.

Conlon will demolish the main front hall and rearrange the internal structure, build a new front elevation, roof and complete internal fit-out at the Temple Street Resource Centre. There will be a garden area, rehabilitation kitchen, hydrotherapy bath, computer suite, sensory room and a games room.

Work on the centre, for people with complex disabilities, is due for completion in May 2011.
