Completion for Jackson House overhaul

The £6.5m redevelopment of the 130,000 sq ft Sale office building has reached its conclusion.

Owner CEG secured consent in August 2019 for the project, which has a 2,000 sq ft extension, a glazed double-height entrance reception, gym, café and terrace, along with meeting spaces.

‘Pop out’ windows have been introduced, with a new cycle hub and electric vehicle charging points also added, alongside the refurbishment of interior business suites.

CEG’s Let Ready range of studio space for smaller and fast-growing businesses has been brought to the site, with six Let Ready studios offering fully furnished workspace for teams of 8 to 18 people. Tenants are supported by the on-site Life team and accompanying app.

The building has floorplates of almost 30,000 sq ft, and currently has around 78,000 sq ft available across three levels. Canning O’Neill and Savills are joint letting agents.

The extension and renovation were delivered by Contract Services. The project team included architect Garnett Netherwood, interior designer Jolie Studios, M&E firm Hilson Moran, structural engineer AKT and project manager Rex Proctor.

“Offering a private garden for customers, new café and deli with atrium seating, meeting rooms, video meeting facilities and innovative break out spaces for working or informal meetings, it is creating a high level of interest from businesses in Manchester and beyond.”

Current tenants include IBM, Sesame Banking Group, Reassured and AA Projects.

Richard Lowe, director at Savills, said: “Jackson House is the best example of a truly flexible space in South Manchester. Occupiers can take traditional leases or core and flex, enabling them to rapidly scale up or down as the need arises.”

Nice to see the modernisation and new facilities at Jackson House.

Was quite a basic office when I first worked there in February 1996 for AMEC Design and Management and then again there in 2000 for AMEC Construction.

Cost of £6.5M seems reasonable, too.
