Co-op Bank expands Manchester HQ by 15,500 sq ft

The business now occupies 45,000 sq ft across three floors at One Balloon Street.

Co-operative Bank was advised on the 15,500 sq ft transaction by Cushman & Wakefield, with CBRE advising landlord Wittington Investments.

The deal is the first at One Balloon Street since flex office provider Orega took 26,000 sq ft in 2022.

Only the third floor remains available. Wittington Investments is currently refurbishing this space, with completion scheduled for next month.

Matt Shufflebottom, director in CBRE’s office team in Manchester, said: “This deal underlines the continued demand for high-quality, fully fitted workspace in Manchester city centre.

“One Balloon Street offers a compelling mix of cost-effective workspace, shared amenities and transport connectivity. The Co-operative Bank’s expansion is a strong endorsement of the building and its long-term appeal.”

OBI are joint leasing agents on One Balloon Street.
