Clearbell lets 19,000 sq ft in Manchester
Zurich, Apita, and Nine Chambers have signed for a combined 25 years at Freetrade Exchange on Peter Street.
Insurance giant Zurich has signed a 10-year lease for 4,300 sq ft on the fourth floor of Clearbell Capital’s Manchester office building, relocating from Norfolk House.
Pension provider Apita has signed for 5,400 sq ft on the second floor on a five-year term, while Nine Chambers is relocating to Freetrade Exchange from its home of 30 years on St John Street.
The barristers’ chambers has signed a 10-year lease on 9,100 sq ft on the ground and first floor of Clearbell’s recently refurbished asset.
“Our restoration of Freetrade has been an ambitious undertaking, transforming what is an iconic building, steeped in history, into a contemporary creative workspace,” said Alice Murray, head of asset management and sustainability at Clearbell Capital.
“With high demand for quality creative workspace in Manchester, and an ambition to encourage more global investment into the city centre, Freetrade was identified as a prime location for redevelopment in June 2023.”
She added: “Testament to the work Clearbell has done to develop it into best in class workspace is the arrival of Aptia, Zurich and Chambers of Christopher Kennedy – fitting partners to be joining Freetrade and which match our ambition and vision for the scheme.”
Clearbell was represented by CBRE and JLL. OBI represented Nine Chambers and JLL represented Zurich.
