Christy takes 12,000 sq ft in Cheadle

Orbit Developments has let 12,000 sq ft of offices on a ten-year lease at Park Square in Cheadle to Welspun UK for its bed linen and towel subsidiary Christy.

Around 50 staff are expected to make the move from Christy's current base in Hyde to Park Square.

Rhys Owen, leasing surveyor at Orbit Developments, said: "It's fantastic to see a global business choosing to base itself in the Stockport borough. Welspun were looking for modern offices that would make a lasting impression on their prestigious client base and visitors, at an affordable and good value rate. With its ample parking, modern reception and onsite café, Park Square has successfully managed to exceed those expectations and within a sensible budget."

Earlier this month, Orbit signed US-owned Jacobs Engineering to a further 22,500 sq ft at Park Square, which totals 133,000 sq ft.
