Cheshire West & Chester seeks first regeneration director
Recruitment consultant Gatenby Sanderson has been hired to find the inaugural director of regeneration and culture for the new unitary authority, Cheshire West and Chester, due to come into operation next spring.
The £108,000-a-year role is one of six directorships in the council's 'corporate management team', to be led by new chief executive Stephen Robinson, currently chief executive of Stoke-on-Trent City Council and a former assistant director of housing at Liverpool City Council.
The regeneration boss will work alongside directors of resources, children and young people's services, environment services, area and community services and adult services.
Two new unitary authorities, Cheshire East and Cheshire West & Chester, will replace Cheshire County Council and the numerous district and parish councils below it from April 2009.
Closing date for applications is 12 September.
