Cheshire East due to approve 650 homes

Three schemes across Crewe, Sandbach and Alsager are due to receive consent from Cheshire East Council at its planning committee meeting next week, all on agricultural land or countryside.

At Basford East, Muse Developments and the Witter Trust submitted a planning application earlier this year for a residential-led mixed-use scheme, with up to 325 homes alongside 110,000 sq ft for employment, a 5,000 sq ft health centre, 25,000 sq ft of food and retail units and a pub.

The project on the 65.5-acre farmland site will be connected to the Crewe Green Link Road.

Around 10% of the housing will be affordable.

Muse and Witter are being advised by Gerald Eve and Planit-IE.

Also recommended for approval at the meeting on Wednesday 16 December is the construction of 200 homes at land south of Old Mill Road in Sandbach. The scheme by Muller Property Group is on open countryside.

At Hall Drive in Alsager, Prospect GB is expected to receive sign-off for 128 homes and infrastructure on agricultural land.
