Cheesemaker among three deals at Deeside industrial estate

Legat Owen and B8RE have secured three deals totalling 40,000 sq ft at Z2 in Deeside as a £500,000 refurbishment gets under way.

The largest of the three is to Snowdonia Cheese, which has taken 20,000 sq ft on a five-year lease, while Co-op Funeral Care and joinery firm Corpalco have both taken 10,000 sq ft on a 10-year lease.

A £500,000 programme of investment to refurbish existing units is now set to begin, while an eight-acre site is being made available for design-and-build opportunities with sizes ranging between 20,000 sq ft and 100,000 sq ft.

The park, which is within Deeside Enterprise Zone, is off the A548 near the end of the M56. Existing occupiers include Toyota, Convatec, Iceland, Magellan Aerospace, Mayr-Melnhof Packaging, Great Bear Distribution, and Tata Steel.

Mark Diaper, associate director at Legat Owen, said: “Interest levels in Z2 remained strong since the outset of the refurbishment programme, demonstrating the demand for top quality industrial accommodation in Deeside.

“With high calibre occupiers committed to space at Z2, we are pleased to announce the early commencement of the next phase of works and together with the 100,000 sq ft of design and build options and the business rate relief options under the Tier II Grant Assisted Area, we anticipate that this prominent location will continue to attract ambitious businesses.”

I understand from a colleague that the agents involved had a right grilling about the deal after they tried to sandwich it in between lunch and dinner and some of them were toasting it before it had been sealed and devoured?
