Charnley takes Tritax Symmetry role

Former Property Alliance director Lee Charnley has joined the industrial specialist as a part-time development consultant.

Charnley, who will work from the company’s Manchester office in Albert Square, spent 16 years with PAG.

Leaving his role as the firm’s development director in 2015, he established Thorngrove Land & Property where he remains as a director.

In the first instance, Charnley will primarily oversee the delivery of Symmetry Park, Knowsley.

Contractor GMI is on site delivering phase one, which comprises a 161,900 sq ft net-zero in construction logistics facility. Outline consent is in place for a further 838,100 sq ft.

Andrew Dickman, director at Tritax Symmetry, said: “Lee brings a huge amount of experience to the role and is a developer known for delivery having completed many industrial and logistics schemes across the country.

“Lee has an acute eye for detail and is a fantastic asset to Symmetry Park Merseyside and the wider team.”

Charnley added: “I’ve known Andrew for 25 years and when the opportunity arose to work with him and his talented team and deliver a major new employment park in the North West, I immediately felt it was an opportunity not to be missed.

“GMI Construction has made an excellent start on phase one and I’m now working closely with the project team to reach the scheduled completion date of Q2 2023.”

At the end of 2021, Tritax Symmetry added construction director Andrew Bain to the team as it geared up for a year with a delivery target of 3m sq ft.

The business came about through a deal in early 2019 when logistics giant Tritax took a majority stake in DB Symmetry.
