CEG begins £6.5m Jackson House refurbishment

Work has started on the 130,000 sq ft office block in Sale, granted planning permission by Trafford Council in May.

The internal fit-out has begun, while the windows, including three-feature ‘pop-out’ windows, are set to be fitted in November. The building is still functional for its tenants, including IBM and Sesame Banking Group. The overall project is to be complete by autumn 2020.

The project also includes the rebranding of the building from Jackson House to M33.

The refurbishment will include an external terrace, café, cycle spaces, and electric car charging facility. The building is to be extended to create a fully-glazed double height reception and external courtyard.

CEG is the developer, while the planning application was put forward by WSP | Indigo.

Designs for the refurbishment were delivered by ORMS and Garnett Netherwood Architects. Canning O’Neill and Savills have been appointed as letting agents.

Robert Morton, investment manager at CEG, said: “This multimillion-pound refurbishment, extension and rebrand have been designed with our business customers in mind. Not only will it create a striking building at the heart of Sale, but we will be able to offer headquarter space alongside studios for small and growing companies.”

Richard Lowe, director at Savills, said: “M33 will provide accommodation from 874 sq ft to full floors of 29,000 sq ft which is the largest available floor plate in South Manchester. The wide range of available suite sizes will appeal to a large cross section of occupiers.”
