Carlyle/Argent confirm Insolvency Service for Piccadilly

Private equity firm the Carlyle Group and developer Argent have confirmed the letting of the entire second floor of Three Piccadilly Place in Manchester to the Insolvency Service, which will relocate from Boulton House and City Tower.

The 20,000 sq ft letting at £25/sq ft follows practical completion in June, since when speculation has mounted that the deal was close. The first floor is let to law firm Weightmans.

The BREEAM 'excellent' rated building designed by Austin-Smith:Lord next to Piccadilly train station is expected to attract further government bodies due to its environmental credentials.

James Evans from Savills, acting on behalf of Carlyle, said: "Negotiations are ongoing with a number of other large companies and we are confident we will have further lettings secured in the very near future."
