Caddick plans another 100,000 sq ft in Leyland
The developer has submitted proposals for three industrial units at Farington Park in Leyland, having won approval for the 544,000 sq ft first phase in April.
Caddick Developments has lodged a pair of planning applications to South Ribble Council requesting permission to build another 100,000 sq ft across around five acres south of Lancashire Business Park.
The first seeks permission for 65,000 sq ft of employment accommodation across two units.
This proposal is in line with outline approval granted for the wider Farington Park scheme in 2021, which permits in principle the creation of 612,000 sq ft of industrial space.
The 65,000 sq ft scheme, coupled with the larger development approved in April, means the parameters of the outline consent have been reached.
As a result, a second, separate application is required to build a third, 33,000 sq ft unit on the same plot.
“These applications represent the second, and final phase of our already secured outline planning application for this small business unit scheme,” said Steve Widdowson, head of Caddick Developments for the North West.
“We have adapted the design in line with the comments we have received through our initial engagement with stakeholders. These proposals help address the acute requirement to provide a modern high-quality space for local businesses in the North West, boosting the economy.”
