Buyer sought for Bierkeller bars
Bar company Burning Night, which operates five sites including Liverpool and Manchester, has been placed into administration with Begbies Traynor.
With its head office in Leeds, Burning Night was established eight years ago and comprised six venues, which are typically large format locations including an ‘Around the World’ bar and a Shooters sports bar area, along with the Bavarian-themed steins and oompah band offer.
The Manchester operation is located in the Printworks and the Liverpool bar at the Chavasse Park end of Liverpool ONE, close to other leisure operators including Café Sports England and Bill’s
The administration follows the closure in August of the company’s Cardiff venue at Millennium Stadium, but the administrators stressed that the other five Bierkeller “entertainment complexes” have all demonstrated growth over the last financial year and will continue to trade as usual.
Employing more than 500 staff nationwide and with an annual revenue in excess of £25m in 2017/2018, Bierkellers make up a large part of the operational business of the Burning Night Group.
Joint administrator Andrew Mackenzie said: “It is important to stress that the companies which own the Bierkeller leases are not in administration and we are working closely with management and lenders to continue to trade these prime assets to their full.
“We are currently seeking a buyer for the venues in order to bring about the best outcome for the company’s creditors, staff and customers.”
Begbies has also been appointed as administrator of Cornertrack, a wholly owned subsidiary of Burning Night, which supplied beer to the venues.
Not surprised Burning Night have gone under…their customer service was horrendous.
Got ripped off in their Manchester Bier Keller bar about four years ago and the way they treated my was so shoddily it was untrue,
Good riddance.
