Buttress’ Marsh and Jones take the reins at Women in Property
Chithra Marsh will become the national chair of Women in Property next month. At the same time, Gwenno Jones will become chair of the organisation’s North West branch.
Marsh is an associate director at Buttress’ Manchester studio and leads the architecture firm’s social value, diversity, and wellbeing initiatives. She has more than 20 years of experience in architecture.
In addition to becoming national chair of Women in Property, Marsh has prominent roles at RIBA national and regional council, and within RIBA North West’s equality, diversity, and inclusion committee.
Jones is an associate at Buttress and also works out of the architecture practice’s Manchester studio. Her current project is crafting the design for the city centre cultural gateway scheme in Coventry.
A member of Women in Property since 2018, Jones feels strongly about paving the way for the next generation of property professionals.
Jones takes on the North West chair role from Fairhursts Design Group’s Nicola Rudman.
Marsh and Jones’ involvement in encouraging diversity in the property industry fits in well with Buttress’ values. The architecture practice became a certified B Corporation earlier this year, a designation that is bestowed on companies that have committed and achieved a high level of social value and sustainability qualifications, have committed to changing corporate governance structure to increase accountability, and are transparent in the ways they do business.
