Bury hotel to get 34-room increase
The Village Hotel, a 128-room hotel at Waterfold Business Park off Rochdale Road, could be expanded under plans lodged with the local council.
Following the design principles of the existing hotel, 17 bedrooms would be added to both the first and second floors of the building.
All the added 34 rooms would be standard double bedrooms complete with ensuites.
The site is directly to the east of Bury but falls under the jurisdiction of Rochdale Council.
The Village Hotel has facilities including conference meeting rooms, a gym, a swimming pool, a pub, and a Starbucks café.
If successful in securing planning permission, the extension, designed by CUBE Architecture, would provide additional accommodation for commuters and businesses in the area, who are the main clientele of the hotel.
Its location at the Waterfold Business Park will seek to take advantage of the presence of corporate travellers.
The car park will host 363 cars, eight spaces will need to be removed to clear the path for the extension.
