Burger King and Greggs drive-thrus planned for Logistics North
The restaurants are set to be built beside each other on land off Bridgewater Avenue at Harworth’s 4m sq ft industrial scheme, under plans submitted by A & F Forecourts.
If approved, this would be the third Greggs drive-thru in the North West. The company first introduced drive-thru versions of its restaurants to the UK in 2017, when its Irlam location was launched. Euro Garages also operates a Greggs drive-thru in Blackburn.
The two units would occupy just under 4,700 sq ft of floor space out of the 10,764 sq ft allocated to food outlets in the original planning approval for Logistics North.
The proposed restaurants would join the list of national companies already at the industrial park. These include Aldi, Costa Coffee, Whistl, Greene King and Lidl.
Bolton Council’s highways department said that the development would see an increase in daily net trips on Bridgewater Avenue increase by 72.
The project team for the drive-thru project includes Jennings Design, Bowland Ecology, Smith & Love Planning Consultants, BWB and Mosodi.

Logistics North is being developed by the Harworth Group, which describes it as the ‘North West’s largest live commercial development.’
The 4m sq ft logistics scheme, located on the former Cutacre colliery site close to Junction 4 of the M61, was granted outline consent in December 2013.
Logistics North has 3m sq ft of grade A logistics and manufacturing space now completed and occupied. Around 5,500 people work at the site.
Work on future phases of the development is ongoing, with a 550-acre country park nearing completion. Earlier this year, Lidl lodged a planning application for an expanded 1.16m sq ft regional distribution centre.
