BT’s Warrington hub tipped for industrial
London-based developer Telereal Trillium has lodged plans to redevelop the former call centre at the Europa Boulevard trading estate into a 120,000 sq ft commercial scheme.
The plot in the Warrington suburb of Burtonwood and Westbrook has been earmarked for a range of uses including general industrial, storage and distribution and offices.
The site contains a two-storey warehouse unit previously used as a BT call centre, and the majority of the external site area has been used for parking.
Under Telereal’s plans, a two-storey building at the northern end of the site would be demolished, a former delivery yard with dock leveller doors on the northern elevation reinstated, alterations would be made to car parking provision to provide space for trailers, and other associated works would be carried out.
The proposed commercial scheme would provide 110,220 sq ft of warehouse space and around 5,000 sq ft of offices on the ground and first floors.
AEW Architects is helping Telereal design the plans for converting the BT call centre back to a B8 unit – its first intended use – and Turley is the planning consultant.
Europa Boulevard is part of Gemini Business Park, which is two miles north of Warrington close to Junction 8 of the M62.
