Browne Jacobson adds to property team

The law firm has continued its North West expansion by recruiting lawyer Viki Shaw to its Manchester real estate practice.

Shaw joins from Stockport Council, where she specialised in strategic housing, conversions in the education sector and the social care sector.

Browne Jacobson’s national property practice is now 50-strong. The Manchester team is headed by Dominic Buckley and Victoria Thourgood and recently advised the Youth Hostels Association (England & Wales) on the refinancing of its portfolio, along with the development of a flagship hostel at London’s Olympic Park.

Buckley said: “Viki will be a great addition to our expanding Manchester team. She has extensive experience in our target sectors, which will suit the needs both of our clients and prospective clients in the region and throughout the UK.”

The firm is to quadruple its existing footprint in the city when it moves to 11,055 sq ft within No. 1 Spinningfields later this year.
