Brodies promotes Barnes to partner

Lucie Barnes is based in Tebay. She is part of the Scottish law firm’s property disputes and telecommunications teams.

Barnes joined Brodies in 2020. Previously, she worked for Baines Wilson and DAS Law.

Barnes has eight years of experience in advising landlords and tenants on issues ranging from leasing to dilapidations. She also specialises in telecommunications and can give advice regarding the UK’s Telecommunications Code.

Barnes is the chairman of the Lancashire and Cumbria branch of Women in Property.

Her promotion is one of several announced by Brodies, which has appointed six other partners and a legal director in its offices throughout the country.

“Lucie has played a key role in growing the firm’s property and commercial litigation expertise in England and Wales, particularly in the evolving area of telecommunications,” said Brodies managing partner Nick Scott.

“I congratulate Lucie and her fellow colleagues and wish them all the best in their new roles.”

Brodies has offices in London, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Brussels. The law firm has more than 100 partners and has a staff of 770.
