Britannia gains consent for Church Inn redevelopment
Britannia Property Group has been granted planning permission by Manchester City Council to redevelop the historic Church Inn in Withington, South Manchester.
The project, funded by Allied Irish Bank (GB), will completely renew the interior of the 150-year-old property, whilst maintaining the exterior features. When completed in 2008 the inn and surrounding land will contain 14 apartments and an on-site caretaker's suite as well as four mews-style four-bedroom houses.
Randal MacRandal, manager of corporate business at Allied Irish Bank (GB), said: "It is encouraging to work with local developers like Britannia Property Group because of their commitment to regenerating properties in the city and beyond, whilst preserving the essence of their location and history."
Allied Irish Bank (GB) also funded Britannia's purchase and redevelopment of Withington Point, a new block of 18 two-bedroom apartments and penthouses. Completion of the project is due at the end of October 2007 and already 50% of the units have been sold. On completion the project value is estimated to be £4m.
