Bredenhann returns to construction at Russells

Eddie Bredenhann has left PP O’Connor after nearly five years with the civils and demolition contractor to become Russell WBHO’s new business director.

In his new role at Russell WBHO, Bredenhann will lead the firm’s efforts to secure new work, manage existing frameworks and nurture client relationships.

The move sees him return to main construction for the first time since 2019 when he left Pochins after a 20-year stint.

Gareth Russell, managing director of Russell WBHO, said: “Eddie’s background in business development and pre-construction, combined with his deep industry knowledge, makes him an invaluable addition to our team.

“Throughout this year, we have progressed large-scale construction projects for new and existing clients while securing new contracts for 2025. We want to build on this success, prioritising sustainable growth across industries including industrial, hotels, leisure, retail and data centres. Eddie’s experience will play a key role in this strategy.”

During his time at PP O’Connor, Bredenhann oversaw the winning of several high-profile contracts, including the demolition of four cooling towers at Fiddlers Ferry and the creation of Mayfield Park in Manchester.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “I’m looking forward to returning to a role in main contracting and re-connecting with clients and contacts.

“Russell WBHO has a strong industry reputation, and I’m eager to contribute to the company’s continued success. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a talented team and I’m confident that together, we can achieve great things.”
