Bowman steps up in Carlisle

Following Cllr Paul Nedved’s decision to step down from the council’s executive, Cllr Marilyn Bowman will replace him as portfolio holder for economy, enterprise and housing.

Cllr Bowman has previously held the economic portfolio and is a former Mayor of Carlisle, serving between 2019 and 2021.

Leader of Carlisle City Council, Cllr John Mallinson, said:

“I’d like to thank Cllr Nedved for his time on the Executive. He has been involved in a variety of projects and we appreciate all that he has done to drive forward economic growth for the city.

“Cllr Marilyn Bowman will be a welcome addition to the Executive and has a wealth of experience to bring to the portfolio. I am sure she will be a great asset and will help drive forward the many economic regeneration schemes planned for the city.”
