Bloor pushes ahead with next tranche of Halsnead homes
An application has been submitted to Knowsley Council for the creation of 208 homes east of Windy Arbor Road within Halsnead Garden Village.
Bloor Homes already has consent for 123 homes on the western portion of Halsnead, known as Elowen Garden Village, and is now seeking consent for the second phase.
Working with consultancy Stantec, the developer wants to build 208 three- and four-bedroom houses.
Subject to a review of the viability appraisal submitted alongside the hybrid application for the whole of Elowen Gardens, Bloor will provide 25% affordable homes in phase two.
The wider Halsnead Garden Village project could see the delivery of 1,500 new homes, 55-acres of employment land and a country park.
As well as Bloor, other developers involved in the creation of the garden village include Taylor Wimpey, Stewart Milne Homes, and Tritax Symmetry, which is bringing forward a 1m sq ft industrial development at the former Corton Colliery.
National land management charity Land Trust has signed a collaboration agreement with Knowsley Council that will see it manage green infrastructure and drainage network at Halsnead Garden Village.
Halsnead is one of the North West’s four Garden Villages named by government as part of the programme in 2017, along with Handforth in Cheshire, Bailrigg near Lancaster and St Cuthberts in Cumbria.
This is going to be a massive boost for this part of Knowsley, and the landscaping should be a big plus.for purchasers.
