Blackpool lodges plans for 243,000 sq ft industrial

Eight units around a soon-to-be-completed link road within the airport enterprise zone’s Eastern Gateway are planned.

Blackpool Council has submitted reserved matters plans for the octet of units, which total 243,000 sq ft.

Outline consent has already been granted for the link road – which would connect Common Edge Road with Amy Johnson Way and is under construction – and the units. However, a more fleshed out set of plans for the latter is required before permission expires this month.

The plans, submitted on behalf of the council by Cassidy + Ashton, are for seven industrial units ranging in size from 12,500 sq ft to 72,000 sq ft and a 4,000 sq ft retail unit.

To learn more about the plans, search for reference number 25/0906 on Blackpool Council’s planning portal.

Blackpool Council is seeking expressions of interest from developers for the plots on which the units would be built. In total these plots provide 26 acres of developable land.

Good news. Blackpool’s boundary is drawn very tightly and it’s critical that they make full use of the land at the airport to attract B2 users with high-skill, high-wage jobs.

Bring the airport back help to improve Blackpool

Has any body given any thought to the residents of this area, whose life is being impacted already by the continuing disruption, and also the devaluation of their properties?

This council doesn’t give two monkeys about the airport. Utter disgrace on behalf of current labour councillors. Amazing we can find money for this , but south shore is neglected , to a degree that is unacceptable and unbelievable.
