Blackpool demolition opens up Lancashire views

Forshaw Demolition successfully completed the controlled collapse of three towers in Layton yesterday, clearing Elizabeth Court, Churchill Court, and Walter Robinson Court to make way for low-rise homes.

Photographs from the top of Blackpool Tower captured the demolition on Sunday morning, and showed the new views across Lancashire to visitors for the first time.

Around 500 flats have been demolished at the Queens Park estate, with all other buildings removed by PP O’Connor.

The rebuild is being delivered by Lovell in two phases. Phase one is complete and comprises of 92 properties, consisting of 40 three-storey flats, 30 two-storey flats and 22 family houses. Phase two will include a further 99 new homes.

The houses are all due for completion in 2018.
