Blackburn approves 147-home Green Hills phase

The development forms part of Kingswood Homes’ wider 400-home neighbourhood.

Blackburn with Darwen Council has given Kingswood permission for phases eight and nine of the Green Hills development, located on a 14.6-acre site to the southeast of Feniscowles.

The scheme will be delivered in partnership with housing association Together Homes and will feature 112 affordable units. The remaining 37 houses will be sold on the open market.

There would be 23 two-bed houses – including six bungalows – 69 three-beds, and 57 four-bed homes.

“Our vision for Green Hills has always been to create a thriving, inclusive community,” said Paul Jones, managing director of Kingswood Homes.

“This new phase represents our dedication to addressing the pressing need for mixed tenure homes while maintaining the high standards of quality and design that Kingswood Homes is known for.”

Dai Howells, assistant director of development at Together Housing, added: “We’re pleased to be working with Kingswood Homes on our aligned vision to create a community that offers high-quality, affordable homes in the Blackburn area.

“Our commitment to responding to diverse housing needs in the town has been a driving force of our investment in the borough which has been strengthened by the approval of this next phase of the Green Hills development.”

The project team includes DEP Landscape Architecture, Hancock & Jay Associates, SLR, E3P, and PDP Associates.
